Although revolvers are made to
kill, I could not help but be drawn to the beauty of the engraving and
its over-all effect on the weapon.
This series was commissioned by one customer and entailed many hours of
work. There were no number six filbert bristles used here but a series
of fine synthetic brushes ranging from 000 through to 5. All paintings
have 3 coats of 'maimeri' imprimitura ground, utilise maimeri puro and
artist colours, and several thinning and glazing mediums.
Although pleased with the finished paintings, there were times that
were not for the faint-hearted all the revolvers are approximately
life-size. |
